Chen Chen Rubric (100pts) Oneshots
Title (5pts) Does the title fit the premise of the story? Is it ‘original’ and eye-catching? It doesn’t have to be extremely complicated/sophisticated, but make it something that appeals to you and has a nice ring to it.
Description/Foreword (15pts) Intriguing the reader, yet not giving away too much of the plot..Does it make you yourself, the writer, want to read it? Does it present the prompt you have chosen well? You will be checked on whether you have linked back to the contest/ displayed the banner.
Originality/Plot (30pts) Ability to entertain and keep the reader’s interest from beginning to the very end, maybe even linger in the reader’s mind afterwards. Was it entertaining to read? Uniqueness of plot and reasonable amount of effort put into scenes, dialogue, conflicts and details. Cliches are fine, but add some of your own twists to make it fresh.
Characterization (20pts) How developed the characters are and how you portray the persona you picked for them- are they 'believable' and understandable? Do their actions fit with the personality you built up for them and make sense?
Grammar/Punctuation (15pts) I’m not particularly harsh with grammar /because I’m not all that great at it either/. The occasional spelling error is unde
